Reason For The Season.....

It is about that time....What time?? u may ask. Christmas time of course. It takes me back to when I was a child, I was so excited for Christmas!
Even though I only got 1 to 2 gifts each year my excitement remained...After all I actually thought Santa was going 2 give me everything I wanted.
Unfortunately every year he failed me.. I remember each year the excitement I had turning into disappointments, broken promises, and sometimes
anger... I just couldn't understand why I never got what I wanted...especially when most of the kids my age said that Santa had come through for them.
So I gave up on Santa because he just wasn't the man the adults made him out 2 be, and I worked hard at being nice rather then naughty....
However just cause I gave up on Santa... I figured it couldn't hurt 2 try it on my own kids. I mean I knew Santa was a false hope and a bribe adults (all over
the world) used 2 get their kids 2 behave. I still for some reason thought "I may as well join in"......I soon found out that my accusations of Santa were correct.
He never came through for my kids either....I know some of u out there may say "he will if u believe"....And honestly I can tell u I did that at one time. Yet again
I still took a chance with my firstborn...My princess wanted a play kitchen...So in 1995 we did it big...Grandpa put on the Santa suit and before I knew it I was
sucked in again...The excitement on her face and her cheerful screams, how could I ruin that? As the night went by and the kids never noticed that grandpa
wasn't there...things were working out for Santa so far....Caught up in the excitement of Christmas and our desire 2 please our princess...Hubby and I decided
we were going 2 keep up the charade we'd been taught through our childhood. So we waited until she was asleep and pulled out the the play kitchen to
assemble it....After all the big day was next and we told her that Santa was bringing it... NEVER underestimate the power of a child's excitement.
We were halfway done with the kitchen when our princess walked in on our conspiracy efforts 2 keep a LIE alive.. We were so embarrassed when she asked
us why Santa didn't leave it for her? We made the decision that day it was time to break the old traditions of the world, and start a new one TRUTH...So we
sat her down and told her that Santa wasn't the one who gave her the gifts but mommy and daddy were. To our surprise she took it well and our days of
trying 2 make a legendary LIE appear 2 be real were over.... We began 2 teach her the REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON. And that reason is the
birth of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST!...He is the reason for the season...the gift giving just confirms what he came 2 do, and that is GIVE Himself as a gift for us...
